It's Time to Embrace Video Games

Embracing the potential of video games

I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my website and my blog. I have a lot to share with you but this is going to take some time. The topic I have chosen is large deep, and challenging to explore.

Why challenging? Because many of us (myself included) come to this subject of kids and games with a myriad of misconceptions and misinformation. What used to be a fun past time, has turned into a massive 40 billion dollar a year industry loaded with controversy and opportunity simultaneously.

The games I grew up playing are not the same games my children are playing even if they have familiar titles and characters. Everything old is new again, but in a confusing, possibly unsettling way. My hope is to share with you what I have learned about the best practices working with kids and video games over two decades in the video game industry.

I believe that used correctly, video games have the potential to be a platform to help you achieve your goals of raising healthy, well adjusted kids prepared to have a bright future. Without the right information, video games continue to feel like a barrier to those goals.

My hope is to share the tools, techniques and practices we have found to be most effective. These will be based upon my personal experience, the experience gained from operating my companies, lessons learned from my franchise owners and their amazing game coaches. Finally, I’ve been doing quite a bit of research that I’m excited to share with what science is teaching us about motivation, engagement, and raising resilient children.
